The Future of Digital Identity: Blockchain & Biometrics to the Rescue?
The use of traditional passwords and similar methods to protect user identities have been around since the beginning of the internet and are perhaps the most significant vulnerabilities that exist to data security and privacy today. It seems inevitable that we will eventually move away from these outdated technologies to other methods of more securely verifying user identities, but it remains unclear what the solution(s) will be. Industry experts and thought leaders will explore the potential of blockchain, biometrics, and other new technologies as means of providing more secure digital identities, as well as the new risks associated with these potential solutions, the potential claims they present, and their implications for the insurance industry. |

The Ins & Outs of Outside-In Scoring Tools
This panel discussion will highlight both the benefits and limitations of “cybersecurity ratings” to the audience, so that brokers and insurance underwriters better understand how these tools can be used to both assess and mitigate cyber risk. Experts on how the data behind these ratings are gathered and the features of the algorithms used - the ratings providers themselves - will answer questions posed by a moderator, who is himself an underwriter, to better understand how these ratings are derived. |

Exploring the Dark Web
This session will explore the Dark Web and show how easy it is for hackers to purchase any information imaginable. It will show you where your data goes when it’s been hacked and why corporations must deploy state of the art security to prevent customer data from being posted in the Dark Web. The session will provide underwriters and brokers a chance to better understand and evaluate the biggest cyber exposure presented to them - which is criminal conduct facilitated by the Dark Web. Underwriters will gain an understanding of the exposures presented to their customers and how their customers should view and assess the potential threat vectors as the first step to protecting their organizations and ultimately finding a balance between convenience and security for your organization. |
