Packing Bags for Women Veterans
Tuesday, November 12th from 3:00 - 4:30pm
Join us for a meaningful volunteer activity where you'll help assemble care packages for women veterans in NWVU's programs, to be distributed at their Thanksgiving event on November 22, 2024. Your efforts will make a real difference in showing appreciation and support for those who have served our country.
The National Women Veterans United
The National Women Veterans United (NWVU) mission is to advocate, educate, and bond with all military women veterans with special emphasis on women who are disabled, homeless, at risk, or returning from deployment, to ensure they are connected to appropriate direct services and resources for readjustment and coping skills, as they return to employment, school, and family.
Write a Note of Encouragement
Wednesday, November 13th from 2:00 - 3:30pm
Write a short note of encouragement to women who are either starting or shifting their career paths. Women Employed will provide a name and let you know which stage of business they're in—whether working on an idea, just starting, or managing an existing business. Grab a postcard, write your message, and Women Employed will make sure it’s delivered to inspire and uplift them.
Women Employed (WE)
Women Employed's (WE) mission is to improve women's economic status and remove barriers to equity through programs focused on educational success—tackling student debt, career pathways, racial equity, and bridge programs—and workplace fairness, including equal pay, sexual harassment prevention, entrepreneurship (WE Hub), fair scheduling, and minimum wage advocacy.
PLUS Foundation Silent Auction at the 2024 PLUS Conference
The PLUS Foundation is proud to host a Silent Auction at the 2024 PLUS Conference Opening Reception on Wednesday, November 13 from 4:45 pm – 7:00 pm. This event supports the Leadership & Mentoring Program (LAMP), benefiting impactful organizations like National Women Veterans United (NWVU), which aids military women veterans with essential resources, and Women Employed (WE), which advocates for women’s economic and workplace equality.
Renowned Chicago artist Elliott From will create two exclusive art pieces live during the reception, which will be auctioned with a starting bid of $1,000. All proceeds go to these inspiring causes, allowing attendees to make a difference in real-time.
