Coat check for those attending the D&O Symposium will be available all day and through the reception on the 6th floor from 7:45 am – 7:15 pm, adjacent to PLUS Registration. There will also be a separate coat check on the 9th floor which will be open for the PLUS Reception only from 5 pm-7:15 pm.

D&O buyers continue to benefit from strong competition, with pricing remaining favorable for both public and private company purchasers through the fourth quarter of 2024. However, significant uncertainty remains about emerging risks and claims still open from accident years 2016 to 2019 and their impact on future profitability.

International D&O experts will discuss the evolving risk landscape and the challenges faced by directors/companies facing litigation both inside and outside the U.S. and will address how insurers, brokers and lawyers can help manage those risks where appropriate.

This presentation will focus on cybersecurity incident reporting in the past year under the SEC’s new rule, which requires public companies to report certain “material” cybersecurity incidents using a Form 8-K.  We will discuss certain trends, SEC guidance, enforcement and market approaches related to addressing the rule during its first year of inception.  We will delve into the impact of the 8-K cyber rule on liability and risk for public companies and their D&Os, including CISOs.  We will also discuss certain approaches for mitigating D&O and cyber-related risks, including through insurance.  Finally, we will forecast the evolution of cybersecurity risk in 2025 as it relates to public companies and their D&Os. 

This panel will feature top leaders from the P&C insurance industry, who will share their strategies for navigating the challenges of 2025 and beyond.

The reception is included with your Symposium registration, and you can also purchase additional tickets at the PLUS registration desks or at the reception.

Among other things, the panelists will discuss the ways that the liabilities of directors and officers are evolving as a result of legal developments, changing technologies, and economic and political developments. The panelists will also discuss the ways that these changes affect the D&O insurance industry, including the policy wording and coverage implications of these changes.

We will discuss the current pricing and capacity in the Private D&O Insurance market.  It will also offer a discussion of the most recent claims, and what both brokers and underwriters see as the most notable current and emerging risks for private companies. This panel will provide insight into the panelists’ thoughts for what 2025 will hold and how companies can avoid and manage their own risk.
