Coat check for those attending the Cyber Symposium will be available all day and through the reception on the 5th floor from 7:45 am – 7:15 pm, adjacent to PLUS Registration. There will also be a separate coat check on the 9th floor which will be open for the PLUS Reception only from 5 pm-7:15 pm.

CE/CLE SESSION.  The panel will discuss the continued evolution of the pricing of Cyber Insurance, impact of events that occurred in 2024 as well as geopolitical and regulatory impacts. We will conclude with the different underwriting perspectives from the carrier, reinsurer, broker and Insured in the current market.

The cyber insurance market has progressed substantially over the past 5 years with substantial (but volatile) growth in premium, the number of policyholders and limits purchased. This panel will look at how cyber data and modeling supports that growth in three sections. First, we will look back and explore how the models have developed and performed relative to historical events. Second, we will look at the state of cyber data and modeling today in the current market context. Finally, we will look out 5 years and discuss how innovation in cyber data and modeling will transform how brokers, carriers and reinsurers get work done in the future.

Ransomware events and other causes of computer system-wide shutdowns are frequent enough to suggest that the claim process is uniform and clear for policyholders and carriers alike. But real-life experience evidence that is the furthest from the truth. From policyholders to carriers to brokers and underwriters, can the process be improved? This diverse panel of active participants in these very questions will engage in a robust discussion to dispel certain myths associated with business interruption claims but will shine light on what someone could expect during the process and advance theories on how the industry can do better. Is it time for a change?

We will discuss the current and future trends in cybersecurity oversight, focusing on SEC rules, state-level regulations, and the growing challenges faced by clients in achieving compliance, including incident reporting and implications for CISOs in post-incident scenarios.
