
Starting on April 15, 2025, PLUS designation programs will require a $150.00 application fee when applying for a designation program. Certificate programs will not require an application fee.
Any member who applies for a designation program prior to April 15, 2025 will not be required to pay an application fee for the program(s) they have applied for.
The Cyber Professional Liability Practitioner (CPLP) designation equips professionals with foundational knowledge in cyber liability.

How to Earn the CPLP Designation:
- Be a PLUS member
- Enroll in the CPLP Designation Program here
- Have at least 2 years of insurance industry experience
- Complete the following View required modules here
- Module 1 | Fundamentals of Liability Insurance
- Module 2 | Commercial General Liability Insurance Overview
- Module 3 | Professional Liability Insurance: Introductions
- Module 6 | Professional Liability Insurance Claims
- Module 23 | Cyber Risk
- PLUS Breach Scenario: Held for Hansom
- Cyber University
Once you’ve completed the requirements above, go to your Education Programs dashboard and click the Affirm Completion link for your CPLP designation program. Your credentials will be reviewed, and once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email with designation-specific information, including how to download your designation certificate. Note: This approval process can take a few business days.
How to Maintain Your CPLP Designation:
After you’ve earned your CPLP designation, you'll be required to report 12 hours of professional development* related to cyber professional liability every 2 years. Failure to do so may result in PLUS revoking your designation. Visit the PLUS Learning Center for more details about this maintenance requirement.
*Professional development hours do not need to come from state-approved continuing education (CE) courses. Attending Cyber University again is not eligible for professional development hours, as it’s a requirement for earning the CPLP designation.

- The on-demand version is completed entirely online through the PLUS Learning Center. You'll have access to the Learner Workbook, PowerPoints, and session recordings from the live session.
- This on-demand course will be available for purchase year-round. Once purchased, the materials will be available in the Learning Center and updated with the latest session content, so users will always have access to the most current PPTs and recordings.
- This on-demand course is not eligible for state insurance license CE/CLE credit or CPLP self-reporting credit, but does count towards the CPLP designation requirements.
