The Cyber Professional Liability Practitioner (CPLP) designation equips professionals with foundational knowledge in cyber liability.

How to Earn the CPLP Designation:
- Be a PLUS member with at least 2 years of insurance industry experience
- Enroll in the CPLP Designation Program
- Log into your PLUS Account
- Under the 'My Account' tab, navigate to the Education Programs section to check your current program enrollments and track your course progress
- Enroll in a program by visiting the Certificates & Designations page under the 'Online Store' tab
- Complete the following PLUS Curriculum modules and their corresponding exams:
- Module 1 | Fundamentals of Liability Insurance (Non-CE Version)
- Module 2 | Commercial General Liability Insurance Overview (CE Version | Non-CE Version)
- Module 3 | Professional Liability Insurance: Introductions (CE Version | Non-CE Version)
- Module 6 | Professional Liability Insurance Claims (CE Version | Non-CE Version)
- Module 23 | Cyber Risk (CE Version | Non-CE Version)
- Attend the live Cyber University virtual program or complete the on-demand version
- Finish the Held for Ransom eLearning course.
- Once you have completed the program requirements: Log in to your PLUS account. Go to Education Programs. Click “Affirm Completion” next to the CPLP Program name.
Maintaining your CPLP Designation:
To maintain your CPLP designation, complete & self-report 12 hours of professional development related to cyber professional liability every 2 years. Half of these hours must be from courses presented by PLUS, such as:
- PLUS Cyber Symposium (in-person or on demand)
- Any other PLUS Symposium or Conference sessions on cyber liability
- Any PLUS webinar addressing cyber liability
Note: *Professional development hours do not need to come from state-approved continuing education courses. PLUS Cyber University does not qualify for professional development hours, as it is a requirement for earning the CPLP designation.
