Module 15: Lawyers Professional Liability Insurance
This module is designed to provide a foundation of the concepts needed to understand the various aspects of LPLI. Just as building a house requires a solid foundation at the beginning, similarly, professional development requires a solid foundation on which to build skills.
Learners begin this module with varying degrees of knowledge and skill. This module enables all learners to develop a good understanding of fundamental concepts of LPLI, as well as the markets and legal environment in which this line of insurance is negotiated, bought, and sold.
Some topics may be new to you, and others may be more familiar. Depending on your background and experience, you may need to spend more time on certain topics and less on others. As you work through this module, use your best judgment in determining how much time you need to spend on each topic. Your goal is to have a solid understanding of the basic concepts for this line of insurance.
This module may help you launch or continue your professional development as an agent/broker, underwriter, claims professional, or other professional involved in the insurance industry. After completing this module, you will have acquired a sound knowledge of LPLI.
