Module 23: Cyber Risk
Cyber risk insurance refers to the various policies that have been and are being developed to provide coverage for technology-related risks. Cyber risk insurance is a developing market that is still being defined by changing technology, court decisions, and the business community’s insurance requirements. No matter your market segment, your clients will likely be at risk for cyber liability losses. This module will help build your knowledge of cyber risk insurance and introduce you to the types of liability and the sources of cyber exposures. It also discusses the underwriting factors, policy provisions, and claims and risk management protocols associated with different types of cyber risks. In this module you will gain a greater ability to identify potential cyber risks and liability, improved knowledge of what laws regulate cyber activities and how new legislation may affect future risks and coverage, and additional knowledge on the underwriting challenges associated with cyber risk insurance and the unique aspects of the cyber claims management process. You’ll need to view each lesson in its entirety and pass the final module exam in order for the module to count towards the requirement for a PLUS Designation and/or Certificate. This course is not eligible for CE credit towards a state insurance license.
