Honoring Jay Karp: 2025 Steven J. Gladstone Claim Executive of the Year

On September 3, we had the privilege of joining friends and colleagues from across the industry in New York City for the annual Claim Executive of the Year (CEY) Awards Dinner, which PLUS proudly sponsored. The evening was all about coming together to recognize Jay’s outstanding leadership, deep expertise, and unwavering commitment to the claims profession.

Since its founding in 2014, the CEY Dinner has become a beloved tradition in our industry. Renamed in 2021 to honor past honoree Steven J. Gladstone, the event shines a spotlight on the often-unsung contributions of claims professionals—leaders whose creativity, judgment, and dedication make a lasting impact on the insurance industry and beyond. Jay embodies everything this award represents. A longtime PLUS member, he served as PLUS President in 2023, spent four years on our Executive Committee, and continues to shape our community as a member of the Board of Trustees. His leadership and generosity of spirit have strengthened PLUS and inspired countless colleagues along the way.

In true CEY tradition, the event also supported a cause close to Jay’s heart. Net proceeds were donated to the Alzheimer’s Association NYC Chapter, which provides essential services to the 426,500 New Yorkers living with Alzheimer’s and the more than 543,000 caregivers who walk alongside them. Jay’s choice reflects his compassion and commitment to making a difference far beyond our industry.
