Meet the Leader

Bill Fair is the Chief Underwriting Officer for Berkley Select, a WR Berkley company writing Management and Professional Liability products.  He is an industry veteran with 30 years of commercial insurance experience.  As CUO, Bill is focused on creating a best in class team and culture, and exceeding client expectations.

Bill has a JD in Law from Notre Dame Law School, a Bachelor’s in Finance from the University of Iowa, and a Master’s Degree in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.  Bill taught Positive Psychology for several years and incorporates it into his client relations and management work.

Bill is an advocate for employee wellbeing, believing this leads to a more productive work environment, better client relationships and a healthier bottom line. He lives in suburban Chicagoland with his wife and two daughters and is an avid skier/snowboarder who enjoys travel and live music.
