Ayse Gauthier

Ayse Gauthier is Counsel at DWF, where she focuses on cybersecurity and privacy law, artificial intelligence governance, and cyber insurance. She advises organizations and insurers on managing technology-related risk, responding to cyber incidents, and navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.

Over the course of her career, Ayse has advised hundreds of organizations and insurers on ransomware attacks, business email compromise, data breaches, regulatory investigations, and other technology-related crises. She regularly advises clients on privacy compliance, including Québec’s Law 25 and other Canadian privacy requirements, breach response, governance programs, and the legal implications of emerging technologies and AI.

Ayse also has extensive experience in cyber and professional liability insurance coverage, advising insurers and policyholders on claims arising from cyber incidents, privacy breaches, technology failures, and professional negligence matters.

Drawing on more than 20 years of experience spanning technology, privacy, cybersecurity, insurance, and risk management, gained through private practice at leading international and national law firms, work with international organizations, consulting, and academia, Ayse brings a practical and multidisciplinary perspective to discussions on AI, liability, insurance, and risk management.
