Eugene Roymisher

Eugene joined Sompo in February 2023. Prior to joining Sompo, Eugene was a Senior Claims Specialist with AXIS Capital for five years, handling D&O and Financial Institutions E&O claims. Eugene investigates claims and evaluates liability and coverage for high severity primary and excess files. He works closely with defense counsel, insureds, and brokers to develop defense strategy to drive and implement early favorable outcomes. Eugene drafts coverage position correspondence to insureds by analyzing policy language and assessing whether coverage is triggered, the scope of coverage, defense obligations, and applicability of policy exclusions. Prior to joining the carrier side, Eugene was a litigator for 7 years, most recently with the law firms of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani LLP and Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP. As an Associate, Eugene represented insurance carriers in state and federal courts in coverage matters and drafted insurance coverage opinions. Eugene also defended insureds in state and federal court, including extensive motion practice and conducted trials in New York and New Jersey courts.
