Bio.

Hagai M. Segal is a multi-award-winning academic, consultant and analyst, specialising in Geopolitics, International Security and the Middle-East. A New York University London professor, and an Oxford University tutor, he is twice a recipient of NYU annual teaching awards.

He is also a global Thought Leadership Advisor on Geopolitics for YPO, the leading global CEO/business leaders organisation.

Hagai has given keynote addresses to corporate conferences and events in over 40 countries – in countless sectors from banking/investment to insurance to hospitality to logistics to aviation – and has advised numerous multinational corporations, banks, investment houses, insurance firms, law firms, NGOs and CEO forums/business leaders organisations.

He has worked with the likes of the FBIֶ, US Federal Reserve Bank System and US Federal Reserve Bank New York, the Metropolitan Police, global banks including UBS/Credit Suisse, Standard Chartered, Macquarie and Deutsche Bank, major insurers including AIG, Sompo and FM Global, as well as numerous corporations from logistics to luxury hospitality to aviation.

Hagai serves on the UK Steering Committee of OSAC (the Overseas Security Advisory Council, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, U.S. Department of State), served on the London First Security and Resilience Advisory Board for the whole of its near 10-year tenure – included activities in Mumbai after the 2008 terror attacks, and London 2012 Olympics security and resilience preparations – as well as on the Executive Advisory Committee of the Global Risk Network.

He also previously helped plan and facilitate a round of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

He is also currently conducting a major piece of academic research on how CEOs and corporate boards understand and address geopolitical and related risks.

His work enables businesses, organisations and investors to better understand, interpret and anticipate the complex risks and crises impacting on our increasingly complex world, and helps them to ensure they are best placed to mitigate their harm, and even profit from them.
