James Whitaker

James is a dual-qualified lawyer (England & Wales and California). He was previously a partner in the disputes team of a global law firm, where his practice focused on commercial and insurance-related disputes across various lines of business. James has almost 15 years of insurance law experience including, in particular, advising on policy coverage issues and acting in related disputes. James joined Aon in January 2023, leading the Financial Lines Coverage Team in the Global Broking Centre, where he manages a team which provides advice and insight to clients, and broking colleagues, on all financial and professional lines insurance (D&O, PI and civil liability, Crime, PTL, EPL), including in relation to policy terms and conditions, new product offerings and emerging exposures and claims. James earned his Bachelor of Arts degree (History) from the University of Durham (2003); his legal qualification from the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice (2006); and his Master of Science degree (Government, Policy and Politics) from the University of London (2008).
