Kathryn L McCalla

Katie has been with General Re since August, 1996, holding various underwriting and management responsibilities. She currently manages the Casualty Facultative Professional Lines business in North America which includes E&O, D&O, Med Mal and Long Term Care business. Katie’s clients include traditional insurance companies, RRG’s, Captives and MGA’s. From May 2008 to July 2019, she was responsible for managing the Chicago and St. Paul Cas Fac offices.

Prior to her current role in Chicago, she resided in Sydney, Australia and held the position of referral underwriter for Asia Pacific where she was responsible for the profitability of the underwriting portfolio across 27 countries. In previous roles, Katie has been responsible for managing the Healthcare line of business for Casualty Facultative in North America and is a current member of the Gen Re Corporate Healthcare Underwriting team.

Katie is a graduate of Northwestern University where she earned her Undergraduate and Master’s degrees, and she has the CPCU professional designation.
