Philip W. Savrin is a partner in the Atlanta office of Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP where he oversees the Insurance Coverage and Extra-Contractual Liability National Practice Group as well as the Appellate Advocacy National Practice Section. After graduating from Boston University School of Law, he served as a Staff Attorney for the Eleventh Circuit and then as a law clerk for the Honorable Harold L. Murphy of the Northern District of Georgia. He specializes in the areas of appellate litigation and insurance law and has argued twice in the Supreme Court of the United States, in Scott v. Harris, 550 U.S. 372 (2007) and Reed v. Gilbert, 576 U.S. 155 (2015). He is ranked by Chambers USA as Band 1 for insurance, is listed in Best Lawyers in America for both insurance law and municipal liability and has been designated a Super Lawyer by Georgia Trend Magazine for many years.
