Ryan Thomas

Ryan Thomas is AIG’s Head of Financial Lines – Asia Pacific; a portfolio consisting of Directors & Officers, Professional Indemnity, Financial Institutions, Cyber, Mergers & Acquisition, Crime, and Kidnap & Ransom products, offered to brokers, clients and cedents throughout the sprawling APAC region including local offices in 13 countries/territories, from India to New Zealand.

Ryan started his insurance career in 2002 as a major accounts D&O Underwriter in AIG’s National Union team based in New York City, before transferring to AIG Australia. After departing AIG in 2008 to take on expansive portfolio and team leadership roles at Vero/Suncorp and then Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, Ryan relocated to Singapore in 2024 to rejoin AIG in his current capacity.

Having grown up in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, Ryan’s upbringing in Asia made the move to Singapore feel like a homecoming of sorts. His love of people, culture, food, and music is matched only by his passion for understanding and managing risk, building high-performing teams and connecting people and ideas in the collective pursuit of greatness.
