Sucheng Chang

Sucheng Chang joined Markel in July 2025 as Managing Director, Asia Pacific. He is responsible for leading Markel’s fastest growing business across Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, Hong Kong, Australia, and the UAE from its regional hub in Singapore.

He brings more than 16 years of experience in senior leadership roles across Asia, serving most recently as CEO of Aon Hong Kong, where he led the global professional services firm in its integration of its commercial broking, health broking, and talent solutions businesses in Hong Kong. Prior to Aon, Sucheng spent over 13 years at Liberty Mutual in a range of management roles, including serving as CEO of Liberty Insurance Singapore and Chief Distribution Officer for 7 markets in Asia.

Sucheng was born in Beijing and grew up in Boston. He holds a BA in International Relations from Boston University and an MBA from Yale University. He lives in Singapore with his wife and two of his three daughters, while his eldest has moved to the Boston area for university. In his free time, Sucheng enjoys hiking, trail running and golf.
