MEET THE PLUS TEAM
 

Robbie Thompson | CEO
Robbie is an experienced association executive with extensive knowledge of professional and trade associations. He joined PLUS as its CEO in 2015 after leading a successful trade association for credit unions. Robbie has led or been involved in association governance, financial, legal, lobbying, engagement, membership, education and business development efforts for almost 20 years. He’s always seeking out innovative ways for PLUS to add member value and opportunities to connect with members. Robbie is a graduate of the University of Minnesota-Morris and William Mitchell College of Law. He lives in the Twin Cities with his wife and has three children. If he’s not at work, he’s probably coaching or watching one of his kids compete in gymnastics or wrestling.  

 

 

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Megan Moore | Director of Professional Development
After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Megan started her career in human resources focusing on orientation and on-boarding programs. Prior to joining PLUS in May 2017, she spent several years designing and developing training for a healthcare software company. Creating programs and training that provide learners with knowledge and skills that help them to grow personally and professionally is her passion. In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, traveling, reading, and listening to true crime podcasts.

Stephanie Johnson | Designation & Curriculum Manager
Stephanie has been with PLUS for more than 20 years, with her main focus being on the RPLU program and education. She enjoys working closely with RPLU students as they pursue their studies, as well as working with the growing changes with the PLUS Curriculum. She is now spending a lot of time planning the PLUS University series. She lives in Hanover with her husband and two children. She loves summer, enjoys being active, gardening, boating and watching her kids play their sports throughout the year.

Marissa Glaser | Online Education Manager
Marissa joined the PLUS team in 2011. She enjoys her role on the PLUS Education Team where she manage our rapidly expanding online eLearning modules. Born and raised in Minnesota, Marissa lives for the warm weather months when she can spend her free time being active outside, relaxing on, in, or near the lake with family and friends, or visiting dog-friendly restaurants and breweries to get her puppy fix.

Chelsea Meehan | Education Coordinator
With seven years’ experience in event management and almost five in the continuing education industry, she is excited to be part of PLUS and their continuing education team. When she's not busy making crafts and going on adventures with her young daughter, she enjoys creating abstract art with alcohol inks.

Tyla Holland | Education Specialist
Tyla has spent nearly a decade in the education industry with nine years of experience in curriculum development and five years of experience in event planning, process improvement, and professional development. Tyla attended Minnesota State University, Mankato where she earned her B.A. in English Studies and M.S. in Educational Leadership. She has found education to be an integral part of her growth as an individual and is proud to work for a company that offers high value educational products and community to its members. In her free time, Tyla enjoys spending time at home with her boyfriend and two cats, kayaking, streaming shows, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

EVENTS & ENGAGEMENT

 

Diane Dukes, CMP | VP of Meetings & Events
Diane earned a B.S. degree at UNLV in Hospitality Management and lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, for 13 years. She has worked at PLUS since 2005 overseeing all of PLUS’s national events. Recently promoted to Vice President, Diane’s role focuses on site selection, event budgeting, contract negotiations, speaker & sponsor management, event logistics, vendor selection and coordination and she oversees an outside meeting planning company with 3 employees. Diane earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2007. Diane loves to travel and has visited all 50 states. She is now working on seeing all the National Parks in the U.S., having visited 38 so far.

 

Dan Jenney | VP of Strategy & Programs
Dan has dedicated his entire career to philanthropy and non-profit work. The bulk of his 15 years with PLUS has been spent working with volunteers to build the PLUS Foundation. Along the way, he has also assisted in leading special projects such as developing a diversity and inclusion plan and increasing PLUS’ global footprint. In his spare time, Dan enjoys painting, biking, golfing and listening to very loud rock music.

 

Laura Palmer-Turnacliff | Senior Event Planner
Laura is an experienced corporate event planner with more than 14 years planning everything from smaller networking and educational events to large fundraisers, galas, and multimedia public events. She integrates sales, public relations, marketing and communications to create outstanding events that engage people and raise money for nonprofits. She is passionate about making sure that the attendee experience is all that it can be. Laura earned her Associates Degree in Business Management from North Hennepin Community College and is a graduate of the Leadership Academy of Associations North. She has won various awards including Program Manager of the Year and President’s Club. When she’s not working, Laura can be found at her home away from home on one of the clearest lakes in Northern Minnesota with her family. 

 

Kim Rocha | Event Support Specialist
Kim has been a part of the PLUS team for over 15 years. She provides executive support and is responsible for managing national event sponsors. Member services is an integral part of her role and she thoroughly enjoys engaging with the members on a daily basis. In her spare time, Kim enjoys volunteering for her children’s sport organizations and stays busy cheering them on at their events.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

Amy Wenstrom | Director of Marketing & Communications
Amy joined PLUS in May 2022 as the Director of Marketing and Communications to build and strengthen the PLUS brand, and develop marketing strategies to support member success while increasing engagement with PLUS. Prior to joining PLUS, Amy spent over fourteen years with at the National Association of REALTORS® where she focused on marketing and member benefits for ten NAR credential programs. Amy holds a BS in Mass Communications from Illinois State University. Amy is based out of the Chicago-area, and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

 

Josephine Terry | Marketing Coordinator
Josephine specializes in graphic creation, email, and social media marketing. She markets both chapter and national promotions and plays a role in the PLUS strategy alongside the Director of Marketing & Communications. She is thankful to be part of a great organization and work along side great co-workers.

 

 

Shelby Leichman | Marketing Coordinator
Shelby has over 5+ years of experience in brand awareness, marketing campaign management, digital marketing, and graphic & web design. Before joining PLUS, Shelby spent 3 years in healthcare marketing, focusing on patient outreach and growing engaged audiences. Shelby holds an MA in Communication and Media studies from Hawaii Pacific University. Shelby is based out of the greater Seattle area, and in her free time, she enjoys taking her dog to the beach and exploring new coffee shops in her neighborhood.

 

 


PLUS FOUNDATION

Glenda Swan | Executive Director
For the past 12 years, Glenda has directed a variety of programs at PLUS, most recently as the Director of the PLUS Foundation. She has also worked with regional PLUS Chapters as they develop and deliver education, events, and services, and has overseen the delivery of education at national symposia and the PLUS Conference. Glenda recently earned a Certification in Meeting Management (CMM), holds a B.A. degree from the University of Minnesota, and boasts 28 years of working with the most passionate, compassionate people in the world: volunteers. In her free time, she enjoys designing women's athletic wear, traveling, cycling, kickboxing, cross country skiing and ice skating.

Angelica Talarico | Foundation Coordinator
Angelica joined the PLUS Foundation in February 2023 as the Foundation Coordinator to provide administrative and executive support. She holds a B.S. in Management from Metropolitan State University and a Scoping Certificate from Anoka Technical College. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, and staying active in all seasons in Minnesota.

 
 

 

OPERATIONS

Scott A. Billey | Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Scott is tasked with oversight of the operational aspects of the organization. Scott has been with PLUS for more than 20 years and enjoys connecting the dots between a basic idea and the implementation of a new strategy. He earned his B.A. from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and his J.D. from Hamline University School of Law. When Scott leaves the office, there is a good chance he’ll end up at an ice arena where he coaches youth hockey and teaches basic skating skills to beginners.  He is quickly becoming familiar with the world of Collegiate eSports since his son started competing and nights that used to be spent watching him at the rink have been replaced with nights watching him on Twitch. 

 

 

Erin Stephens | Deputy Chief Operating Officer
Erin joined PLUS in May 2019 to create opportunities to engage members. She worked closely with staff across the organization which led to her current role where Erin is now focused on improving the member experience through process improvement, data analysis and innovation. When she’s not creating a color coded spreadsheet, Erin is with her family exploring and embracing all Minnesota has to offer as she moved back here in 2019 from the Washington D.C. area.

Sue Sheldon | Operations Coordinator
Sue has been a part of the PLUS team for over 24 years. She enjoys interacting with prospective and ongoing members and providing membership service to all. Sue's motivation and dedication to PLUS persist as she continues to witness the year-to-year growth of our national and Chapter events. In her hometown of Prior Lake, she leads an active lifestyle, enjoys spending time with her family and makes the most of Minnesota summer days on the lake.

Shelia Bourgoyne | Human Resources Generalist
As Human Resources Generalist, Shelia is tasked with managing all human resources functions within the organization. She earned her B.S. from St. Catherine University – St. Paul & is SHRM-SCP certified. When not at work Shelia enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling and volunteering for animal rescues.
