Any member who applies for a designation program prior to April 15, 2025 will not be required to pay an application fee for the program(s) they have applied for.

How to Earn Your RPLU Designation:

  1. Be a PLUS member
  2. Enroll in the RPLU Designation Program here
  3. Have at least 2 years of insurance industry experience
  4. Complete the following |  View required modules here
    • Module 1: Fundamentals of Liability Insurance
    • Module 2: Commercial General Liability Insurance Overview
    • Module 3: Professional Liability Insurance: Introduction
    • Module 4: Financial Analysis
    • Module 5: Professional Liability Reinsurance
    • Module 6: Professional Liability Insurance Claims
    • Module 7: Medical Professional Liability Insurance Intro
    • Module 8: Directors & Officers Liability Insurance Introduction
    • Choose any 5 modules from Module 9 - Module 23

Once you’ve completed the requirements above, go to your Education Programs dashboard and click the Affirm Completion link for your RPLU designation program. Your credentials will be reviewed, and once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email with designation-specific information, including how to download your designation certificate. Note: This approval process can take a few business days.

After you’ve earned your RPLU designation, there is no maintenance requirement.

How to Earn Your RPLU+ Designation:

  1. Complete all requirements for the RPLU designation (see above)
  2. Enroll in the RPLU+ Designation Program here
  3. Complete 5 additional modules chosen from Modules 9 – 23 that weren’t completed as part of your RPLU designation. View modules here
