Announcing the Future PLUS Advancement Initiative

The insurance sector is facing a significant challenge in the coming years. According to organizations such as Insurance Business and Insurance Journal, the U.S. insurance industry is expected to lose up to 400,000 professionals by 2026, and approximately 50% of the overall workforce within the next 15 years. This looming talent shortage threatens to create gaps in knowledge, expertise, and leadership in the insurance workforce.

As senior leaders in this field approach retirement, the PLUS Board has recognized the impending knowledge and qualification gap and aimed to meet these changing needs with a targeted approach. In response to this challenge, the Chapter Task Force identified regional event access and broader networking and career development opportunities as key priorities to develop future leaders. These efforts culminated in the vision for the Future PLUS Advancement Initiative—an initiative designed to provide the resources and support necessary to develop future leaders who will drive the industry forward.

The Future PLUS Advancement Initiative is a bold new program designed to empower young professionals aged 35 and under within the PLUS community and the professional liability insurance industry at-large. This initiative aims to foster career growth, enhance professional skills, and create a pathway for young leaders to engage with and contribute to the future of our industry. Through tailored educational resources, exclusive content, and mentorship opportunities, the Future PLUS Advancement Initiative is dedicated to shaping the next generation of professionals.

Current Progress and Exciting Updates

Here are some key developments that reflect our commitment to helping young professionals thrive:

1. Increased Outreach at PLUS Symposia Events 
   We’ve ramped up our engagement efforts at PLUS Symposia events, offering more opportunities for Future PLUS members to connect with peers and learn more about Future PLUS and its offerings.
2. New Future PLUS Advancement Initiative Webpage 
   We have introduced a dedicated webpage for the Future PLUS Advancement Initiative. This page serves as a central hub for information about the initiative’s offerings, upcoming events, and program updates. You can visit it here to learn more.
3. New Future PLUS Member Benefits Resource 
   We’ve also launched a Future PLUS Member Benefits Resource to help members make the most of their Future PLUS membership. This comprehensive guide provides a clear overview of the exclusive perks and opportunities available to members. Check it out here.
4. Exclusive Future PLUS Section of the PLUS Newsletter 
   To further streamline communication and ensure our members have quick access to the most relevant news, we’ve created an exclusive Future PLUS section within the PLUS newsletter. This section is visible to Future PLUS members only and will feature updates on upcoming events, new products, member tips, and other essential information.
5. Additional Incoming Future PLUS Content 
   In response to growing demand, we are expanding our content offerings to include new, relevant resources aimed at supporting the career development of young professionals. Stay tuned for even more exclusive content on leadership, skill-building, and industry trends!
