Day 2 Down, 1 to Go of Healthcare & MedPL Symposium

Today was another jam-packed day of networking, learning, and growing at the Healthcare & MedPL Symposium!

The morning began with valuable connections at the networking breakfast and continued into the afternoon at the networking luncheon. Both events offered attendees the chance to exchange ideas and build meaningful relationships in a relaxed setting. Additionally, the networking lounge, which was open all day (and is open again tomorrow), served as a central hub for connections to be made professionally…and personally.

Three CLE/CE-eligible sessions took place today, which provided attendees with the chance to learn about various emerging topics:

Medical Staffing Trends: This session explored the evolving medical staffing landscape in 2026. It uncovered how shifting demand drivers, the expanding role of allied health professionals, regulatory and operational risks, and urban–rural disparities are reshaping staffing strategies.
Dispatches from the Courtroom: Trials, Challenges, and Some Good News?: A panel discussed the challenges defense attorneys and claims adjudicators face when it comes to PL claims, and how these challenges can affect loss severity and underwriting decisions. Attendees uncovered how providers, claims professionals, and defense attorneys are working to minimize and control risk.
From Regulation to Risk-Understanding Today’s Professional Liability Challenges: This session focused on how changes in federal and state regulations in the last several years have impacted the PL insurance industry, including claims that may be pursued, the standard of care, and underwriting consideration.

The day ended with a fun-filled happy hour, where attendees reconnected with friends and created new professional relationships over drinks.
