PLUS Q1 2021 Content Recap

PLUS has always provided members with great content, and we’ve only stepped up our efforts going into 2021. With the new PLUS Connect App, as well as this blog, we’ve upped our content channels and are working to provide the latest insights in the professional liability. PLUS has been branching out into podcasts, and this year has already brought fantastic content from various branches of the industry:

• The New Administration and D&O Risks: Early Thoughts Rob Yellen and Kevin LaCroix were joined by John Fielding to share their thoughts and insights on how the changes in Washington may shape the D&O risk landscape.
• Climate Change & The London Insurance Market: Are We Doing Enough? David Nicholson, Lindsay Keenan, Chris Thomas, and Zina Saeed came together to discuss why climate insurance risk is intensifying, examining the industry’s response to climate change and exploring items insurers should consider.
• Deal with Me: Transaction Insurance Leaders Chat with Matt and Dan Daniel Auslander and Matthew T. Simpson are joined by Jeffrey D. Cowhey in a discussion about the Transaction insurance marketplace, products, and trends.
• Lets Talk Professional Liability with Robbie Thompson PLUS CEO Robbie Thompson chats with professional liability thought leaders about business line trends, market conditions, and what it takes to be successful in the industry. This podcast is only available on the PLUS Connect App.

Coming up in Q2 is another installment of “The New Administration and D&O Risks,” this time focusing on the first 100 days in office. There will also be another episode of “Deal with Me,” and Robbie has a great set of interview lined up with insurance professionals for more “Lets Talk Professional Liability” podcast episodes.

The written content on the blog has also been strong going into 2021. Weve had posts from our regular blog contributors, as well as submissions from other interested and knowledgeable insurance professionals:

• A Brave New World of EngagementBen Woodward presents his thoughts on the new normal the pandemic has brought us, and discusses how our engagement has and will continue to change, both in the industry and beyond.
• There’s Something “Phishy” about Certain Text MessagesMark Bassingthwaighte gives a detailed explanation and warning about the insidious threat of “smishing,” phishing attacks that occur through text messaging.

Webinars have also been an excellent source of content and education for our members. In February PLUS hosted a webinar on the Biometric Privacy Act, with another webinar in March about recent trends in Fiduciary Liability. And today was a webinar focusing on new risks of claims against directors from COVID-19, the threat of cyber attacks, and the growing support for both ESG as well as diversity and inclusion.
