The countdown is on! The 2025 PLUS Symposium Series is just around the corner, featuring exciting events like Employment Practices Liability (EPL) on March 3rd, Cyber and Directors & Officers (D&O) on March 4th-5th, and the Transactional Lines event on March 24th—all taking place in the heart of New York City. It’s shaping up to be an enriching experience for all attendees! Whether you’re new to the event or returning for another year, this gathering is the perfect opportunity to connect with industry leaders, gain insights from expert speakers, and stay ahead of the latest trends shaping the Professional Lines sector.

For first-time attendees, navigating such a dynamic event can be a bit overwhelming. With so much happening—networking, sessions, and all the opportunities to grow—it’s essential to be prepared. The Future PLUS Conference Welcome Task Force has put together some handy tips to help you make the most of your experience, ensuring you leave with valuable knowledge, new connections, and a sense of confidence. So, let’s dive into these tips to get you ready for a successful and unforgettable Symposium Series experience!

  • Review the attendee list in advance of the symposium so you can identify people you know and people you would like to meet;
  • If you see someone on the Future PLUS team at the symposium, go over and introduce yourself as we’re all happy to meet and network;
  • Plan your transportation in advance;
  • Keep a water bottle and some healthy snacks with you to stay energized;
  • Choose clothing and shoes that you feel good in and can wear comfortably throughout the day;
  • If you are attending the Cyber or D&O Symposiums, don’t forget your badge on day two;
  • Have LinkedIn set up on your phone to make quick connections;
  • Prepare your elevator speech in advance of the symposium so when you meet new people you can succinctly explain who you are and what you do;
  • This can be a very long couple of days so don’t be afraid to step away for a moment to yourself;
  • Consider bringing a sweater as it can sometimes be cold in the hotel;
  • Remember that in order to get CE/CLE credits you need to scan in and out of the sessions;
  • After you leave, follow up with people you met via email or LinkedIn;
  • Share what you have learned with your team; and
  • Get involved with PLUS by joining the Mentorship Network and/or attending PLUS chapter events!
