Jay Karp

Jay Karp is the Vice President of Claims, responsible for overseeing Travelers Bond & Specialty Insurance Management Liability Claims for the following business units: Public Company Liability, Financial Institutions, Private & Nonprofit and Professional Liability. In his role, Jay oversees claims on the Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Errors and Omissions, Fiduciary Liability, Transactional Liability, Crime, Cyber, and Kidnap & Ransom products.

Prior to his current position, he was the Head of the Executive Liability Claim Group for Travelers Bond & Specialty Insurance. He also has held positions at AXIS Specialty, Kemper and CNA. Before his career in insurance, Jay was a litigator in private legal practice. He earned his B.A. degree from Brandeis University and his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law. Jay has been an active PLUS member, was PLUS President in 2023 and is departing the Executive Committee after four years of service but remaining on the PLUS Board for 2025.
