Japhet Boutin

Japhet Boutin is the SVP – Head of Zurich North America Technical Claims. In this role, she oversees the Technical Claims Department, including Financial Lines Claims, Surety, Latent and Environmental, and Property Claims. Prior to this role Japhet was Vice President and Director of ZNA Financial Lines Claims – overseeing all aspects of the North America Financial Lines Claims Organization including Public & Private Directors and Officers (D&O), Financial Institutions Errors and Omissions (E&O), Professional Liability including Cyber, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Professional Programs, Accident and Health (A & H) and Healthcare.

Japhet joined Zurich North America in 2009 as Senior Coverage Counsel in the Claims Legal Division. She has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry both as an attorney and a claims professional. Prior to Zurich Japhet worked at AIG in a variety of roles in claims after transitioning from private practice.

Japhet holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Barnard College, Columbia University and graduated from Temple University Law School. She resides in New York City and is currently a board member of The Bridge Transcends organization. She is also a Fellow with the Partnership for New York, as well as the Co-chair for the Professional Liability Underwriting Society D & O Symposium.
